I saw the cardiologist yesterday and am scheduled to have surgery on Friday, June 23. As expected, the surgery will involve cutting a small hole in the sac around my heart to allow the excess fluid to drain off. Apparently there’s a lot of extra fluid. The doctor said it actually works in my favor for surgery because it means he’ll be further away from my heart while operating.
I’ll likely be in the hospital for three or four days, however long it takes for the draining to stop. Other than that, I shouldn’t have much recovery time at all.
Thanks to many prayers on my behalf, I was able to complete one of two out-of-town speaking engagements earlier this week. It couldn’t have gone better! David and I had a very enjoyable and relaxing getaway to Tupelo, and I had a wonderful time with the ladies of the Tupelo Christian Women’s Connection. I spoke to them this same time last year, and it was great reconnecting. Other than having to sit in a chair while I spoke, I had no problems at all. The ladies said they liked having me sit; it made them more relaxed.
Up next is a day trip to speak in Virginia this coming Tuesday. Prayers for strength and a voice will be appreciated!
Onward and forward,
“The righteous shall move onward and forward, and those with pure hearts will become stronger and stronger.”
