Today I received an advance copy of My Anchor Holds, the book I wrote to chronicle my more than four-year battle with Stage IV colorectal cancer. I am ecstatic! The book looks fantastic!
The quick photo I took doesn’t do it justice, but it at least gives you a sneak peek of the finished product. The artwork that appears on the cover is based on a print created by Brooke Griffith, an amazingly talented young artist. The print depicts a ship in the midst of rolling waves and a fierce storm; the paper on which it appears is the hymn, “It Is Well with My Soul.” I bought the print for my mother shortly after my father’s death, and it later inspired the title of my book. As I’ve battled cancer and faced the very real possibility of death, God has been my anchor in the storm, and all has been well with my soul.
It is an honor to have been chosen as a vessel of God’s blessing, and I eagerly anticipate the opportunity to share my message of hope to others. My books should be available by the second week of December, and I am in the process of scheduling speaking engagements and book signings. Stay tuned for more updates!
